Since this topic has been so popular I'll make it into it's own post. I will continue to update this post throughout the day reflecting the latest information on the Brett Favre to Minnesota story. If you'd like to view the original post please click here.

The Latest:
-
Vikings' interest in Favre not just passing (Star Tribune) - 5/6/09 - 9:30PM
Let's face the fact that if Brett Favre wants to play another season in the NFL, and if he can pass a physical that indicates his arm is sound, he will likely be the Vikings quarterback this year.

- Childress and Favre could reach a deal quickly (Star Tribune) 5/6/09 - 9:29PM
But Childress did leave the Twin Cities on a commercial flight Wednesday and, according to people with knowledge of the situation, the Vikings coach was scheduled to begin meeting with the for-now-retired record-setting quarterback over dinner. Discussions about Favre wearing a Vikings uniform this fall will continue Thursday, most likely in Hattiesburg.

-"As far as I know, he is retired" (Pioneer Press) 5/6/09 - 6:58PM

"What he and Favre talked about late Tuesday: "As far as I know, he is retired."

When asked about ESPN's report that Vikings coach Brad Childress would visit with Favre this week to discuss another comeback: "To my knowledge, that is not true."

- Brett Favre Snap Judgments: Fed up by yet another No. 4 flip-flop (SI.com) 5/6/09 - 3:44PM
"It's beyond tiresome by now. Let's face it, it's sad and kind of pathetic that we're once again being sucked into another Brett Favre watch. What are we up to now, four, five summers in a row with the same basic storyline: Will he play or won't he? The indecision of the man has become as legendary as his football feats, and infinitely less entertaining."

- Childress, Favre meeting set (Star Tribune) 5/6/09 - 1:02PM

"Vikings coach Brad Childress is expected to depart for Mississippi later today and meet with quarterback Brett Favre tonight and Thursday, according to a person with knowledge of the situation."

- Pawlenty Wants to See Favre in Vikings Purple (Star Tribune) 5/6/29 - 12:48PM
"
He says it would be a wonderful little salt to rub in the eyes of some of our Green Bay Packer friends."

- Don't bring this circus to town (Star Tribune)
"By coaxing Brett Favre out of retirement, the Vikings would see ticket sales and media attention rise. But his divisive presence and equal-opportunity passes won't win a Super Bowl."

- Shooter Now: Minnesota Vikings might need to give Brett Favre a two-year deal (Pioneer Press)
"Best guess is Farve, who will turn 40 in October, gets an offer of about $12 million over two seasons, with maybe just $2 million fully guaranteed. A second year probably would end up being for cosmetic purposes, but could contain accelerators providing the future hall of famer with a large bonus if he's on the roster next March."
